LORNA SEITZ, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Ms. Seitz earned her BA at Reed College, MA in Environmental Law at Vermont Law School, and JD at Boston University School of Law. Prior to coming to ICLAD, Ms. Seitz served as legal counsel for corporate, non-profit and low-income clients; spearheaded corporate restructuring initiatives; drafted legislation; and served as a mediator.
One of ICLAD's founding members, Lorna became ICLAD's first Director of Research and Training in 2004 and ICLAD's Executive Director in 2007. Ms. Seitz has worked with legislators and officials in more than thirty countries on issues including health, the environment, poverty, business and labor, regulation of police, education, and human rights. In addition to teaching internationally, Lorna has taught at both Boston College and Boston University Law School. Lorna is currently establishing a new ICLAD center in California, and is preparing to teach Political Science for the University of California.
Lorna's research interests include developing strategies for institutionalizing participatory decision-making processes and increasing the equity, sustainability and effectiveness of environmental policies.
