Following Marshallese participation in ICLAD's e-Learning course, Legislative Drafting for Democratic Social Change, two ICLAD Certified Trainers conducted an in-country project. The project began with a legislative drafting workshop for 50 individuals, sponsored by UNDP and comprising members of the Attorney General's office, legislative counsel, ministers and ministry staff, civil society representatives, and Members of the Nitijela (Parliament). 


The second phase of the project was sponsored by UNDP and AUSAID and included members of the Attorney General's office, legislative counsel, ministers and ministry staff, civil society representatives, and Members of the Nitijela (Parliament). Group members drafted intransitive bills, focusing on drafting for implementation.
