Kazakhstan

 

UNDP and OECD sponsored an in-country learning program, conducted in conjunction with Boston University School of Law. Two ICLAD Certified Trainers conducted the UNDP-sponsored effort to establish a legislative strengthening program for the members of the Senate and the Majilis (Parliament). OSCE then sponsored the program in Almaty. Drafters from four Central Asian nations met to draft bills to protect the region's water supply. NGO representatives and officials from all four countries—Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan—produced a draft legislative agreement to protect the region's water supplies.
