ICLAD On-Line - Our International Electronic Mailing List: ICLAD maintains a multi-national list of e-mail addresses to facilitate communication on issues relating to law and development. Most of the members of ICLAD's mailing list are familiar with the institutionalist drafting methodology due to participation in an in-country workshop, the Residence program and/or the Distance Drafting Course. This Website constitutes another of ICLAD's efforts to connect law and development professionals throughout the world. We anticipate that our website will be used as a means of locating collegues working on similar issues and as a starting point for conducting legislative research. As this website develops, we will add links to an ever-widening body of legislative, economic, and statistical databases; NGO websites; draft laws and research reports and articles exploring techniques for drafting socially-transformative laws. Conferences facilitate the exchange of ideas and the development of new strategies for effectively addressing social problems. ICLAD will organize conferences to facilitate the exchange of legislative research techniques, experiences using law to promote democratic social change and strategies for institutionalizing on-going legislative learning programs and research institutes.
